Master's Program in Sport Management

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The graduate program in Sport Management is designed to educate students to become administrators and leaders in a variety of exercise and sport settings. Included are the areas of interscholastic, intercollegiate, recreational, professional, international, and amateur sports. Job placement is enhanced through experience and contacts made in practicum and internship experiences.

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
Master of Science in Sport Management (MS - thesis)
24 Semester hours minimum of approved graduate coursework
6 Semester hours minimum thesis credit
30 Semester hours minimum (total program)
(maximum of 6 credits of PET 6971 may be used to satisfy the degree requirements)
Examination: Successful completion and defense of thesis

1. Teacher certification for those interested in elementary or secondary school administration.

3. For those aspiring to work directly with athletes/participants involving the improvement of performance:

4. For select students specializing in business, three of the following courses are required in addition to the previous requirements.

Note: 1000-4000 level courses within the department and 1000-2000 level courses outside the department are not eligible to count toward the graduate degree requirements.
