Alan C. Moore Sport and Fitness Program

The Alan C. Moore Sport and Fitness Program serves approximately 9000 students annually. The program provides roughly 40 different activity classes for UF students that offer an academic as well as physical component. The academic portion of the course challenges the student in learning rules, terminology and strategy. The physical component of the class is designed to provide instruction pertaining to all the basic skills necessary to perform and enjoy the particular activity. Research widely supports the benefits of physical activity in the reduction and/or prevention of a number of diseases that plague Americans. Primary goals of this program are to educate our student population about lifelong health habits that will improve and prolong the quality of life as well as developing and/or improving skill proficiency in the activities offered.
