Mission of the Academic Advising Program

  • Evaluate undergraduate students for admission into various specializations, in cooperation with the College’s departmental representatives.    

  • Help undergraduate students identify career goals that match their interests and abilities via recruitment, career and academic advising, and retention efforts.

  • Coordinate admission for students wishing to transfer from other institutions or wishing to return to the University of Florida.  

  • Assist undergraduate students to establish coherent education plans to achieve their career goals. 

  • Aid undergraduate students in adhering to academic standards and policies of the University, through a variety of strategies (one-on-one and group academic advising sessions, universal tracking, career fairs, workshops, creation of web-pages, brochures, etc.).   

  • Assist departmental graduate coordinators in remaining knowledgeable of current rules and policies of the Graduate School. 

  • Serve as a resource for curricular matters at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

  • Monitor, analyze and report enrollment data for the College.
