The College's performance rests largely on the quality of its graduate programs and students.
When these students graduate, they contribute to the state through their teaching, research, and service.
Competition for the most talented and dedicated master's and doctoral candidates is rigorous. The ability
to offer substantial financial aid packages can make the difference in the college's performance in this competition.
Many graduate students are adults with families, who require fellowships to pursue their studies. As tuition rises,
we will need more private support for them.
The College seeking three additional endowments of at least $150,000 each for graduate fellowships. These awards
may be named, and they can claim available state matching funds.
The degree I earned from the University of Florida's College of Health and Human Performance has increased in value many times over since I graduated. This is a result of the tremendous advances of the college and the university. We all must help the college ensure that the improvements in teaching and research continue.
